Lecture by Dr Erna Imperatore-Blanche at the School of Occupational Therapy

DSC00023The School of Occupational Therapy of Metropolitan College, Thessaloniki campus received as a guest speaker Dr Erna Imperatore-Blanche, Head of the graduate programme of the School of Occupational Therapy and Science at the University of Southern California (USC), USA. First and second year students of Occupational Therapy, tutors and clinical placement supervisors attended the lecture. Dr Imperatore-Blanche is a universally acclaimed scientist in both clinical and research fields.

The presentation was a historical reference to the evolution of Occupational Science and its contribution to the constant remodelling of the theoretical basis of Occupational Therapy. Dr Imperatore-Blanche also presented in a direct and familiar way major publicly funded research carried out by the School of Occupational Science of the University of Southern California (USC), USA, as well as data from her doctoral thesis concerning the trends of the game in adult populations. She also highlighted important statements made by individuals who developed the theory of Occupational Therapy, which, after 30-40 years, are entirely up-to-date and continue to take the profession a step further in the future.
