    Metropolitan College is founded under the name of European Educational Organization (EEO). It is one of the oldest private colleges in Greece and since it’s founding, it is proudly recognized as a well-respected educational institution, offering a variety of academic studies according to the international quality standards.

    Metropolitan College invests in a significant expansion of its educational activities and initiates a number of international collaborations with distinguished European Universities in the areas of Business Administration, Computing, Translation and Psychology.

    Metropolitan College is the first private College to offer an undergraduate Speech Therapy programme, the only one in Greece at the time, bringing together some of the best academics and researchers in the field. The specific programme remains one of the top academic programmes of the organization until today.

    Metropolitan College is renamed ATHENS METROPOLITAN COLLEGE (AMC) and expands its activities in new fields of study, by reaching new, significant collaborations with distinguished UK Universities.

    The year was marked by major changes and new perspectives! Metropolitan College inaugurates its new modern campus in Maroussi, and a new era of high European standards in Greek Higher Education begins. The new campus is located in a privately-owned site of 7,000 sq.m. in Maroussi (a northern suburb of Athens), featuring lecture theatres, modern teaching rooms, computer labs (with Internet connection), computer engineering labs, Psychology and Speech Therapy labs, a fully-equipped library, as well as sports facilities (soccer, basket, volley). The new campus fulfills the specifications of the latest EU regulations and its construction is based on the International Quality Standards of Education.

    Furthermore, AMC - aiming to internationalize its activities - sets up the in-house Department of International Relations, whose main responsibilities include attracting international students through a wide network of educational agents

    Metropolitan College continues to grow in Greece. A new collaboration is established, through which the College offers undergraduate programmes in Psychology, Business Management, Early Childhood Studies, Physiotherapy, Media-Journalism and Music Technology.

    Metropolitan College introduces the brand new Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, presenting in Greece academic programmes on Architecture, Civil Engineering and Electrical-Electronic Systems, in cooperation with distinguished universities in the UK, and it is the first private educational organisation which specializes in the fields of Environment and Construction.

    During the same year, Metropolitan College introduces new academic programmes, fully taught in the Greek language [exclusively designed for Greek students and speakers of the Greek language], in the fields of Business Management, Economics, Marketing, Computing, Early Childhood Studies and Special Education, in collaboration with the University of East London, UK.

    A brand new building of additional 2.000 m² in the Maroussi campus welcomes the 2012-2013 students! The new campus – right next to the main Maroussi campus - is fully completed in September 2012 and hosts numerous labs, high capacity lecture rooms and offices. The Campus is now one-of-a-kind for the Greek standards in private education and it operates with the latest equipment in the market.

    The same year, Metropolitan College introduces its brand new campus in Thessaloniki, the second biggest city in Greece. The College decided to invest in the most modern infrastructure of the highest quality, in order to satisfy the continuous demand for high status education in Northern Greece.

    Moreover, new academic programmes are being launched, in the fields of Biomedical Sciences, Occupational Therapy, International Tourism and Hotel Management, and a wide range of postgraduate programmes in Computing and Business.

    Metropolitan College introduces its brand new campus in Piraeus (southern suburbs of Athens), in a fully-renovated, historical building right in the heart of the city’s commercial district.

    In June 2015, a brand new campus opens its doors in the heart of Athens, in a fully – renovated building, according to the high architectural and operational standards of the collaborating Universities. The new downtown campus offers lecture rooms, labs, a library, administration offices and a café.

    The same year, Metropolitan College launches a new academic collaboration with the UNIVERSITY OF LONDON [International Programmes] and offersstudents the opportunity to study for the following academic programmes in Greece: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) offered for the first time in Athens, BSc Economics and BSc Politics and International Relations.

    Moreover, two brand new postgraduate courses are launched, in collaboration with the University of Portsmouth: MArch Architecture and Urbanism and MSc Civil Engineering, offered for the first time in Greece through a collaboration with a UK University.

    Official opening of the expanded campus in Maroussi, in the presence of the President of the Republic. The campus reaches a total of 13,000 m², rendering it the largest and most modern private College campus in Athens.

    New international partnership with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in Russia, which covers all educational issues related to the exchange and sharing of knowledge between students and academic staff.


    Launch of the School of Shipping, in collaboration with Southampton Solent University, a world leader in Maritime Studies
    including Warsash Maritime Academy, the world’s leading maritime education and training provider with 70 years of history.


    Membership in the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) network
    , which offers worldwide recognition, access to a diverse and wide database of universities, collaboration with other networks and official institutions, and exchange of good practices.
