	Description The BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies is addressed to anyone aiming at providing children at the most sensitive and important age of their life, namely at the age when they start discovering, developing at all levels, exploring and starting to actively participate in the learning procedure. It is based on the most modern theoretical and academic approaches as well as on the professional demands of an increasingly expanding area, adapted to the needs of the 21st century, while, at the same time, it practices and promotes Pedagogy through the academic lecturing and research. It combines theory with the practice and places emphasis on the development of critical thinking and research abilities of the students, while it is completely adapted to the needs of the modern society. The graduates of this programme may work at pre-school centers (crèches and/or nurseries, playschools, children's creativity centers, etc), but they can also co-operate with institutions, where the presence and involvement of pre-school educationalists are considered necessary. Duration: 3 years

	Career Prospects Τhe BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies programme offers the necessary skills to those who wish to advance professionally in the Early Childhood sector. Graduates of the programme can: Establish and/or manage pre-school centers of a broad range (crèches and/or nurseries, playschools, children's creativity centres, etc). Teach at such centers and co-operate with institutions, where the presence and involvement of specialists for children aged between 0 and 8 years old are considered necessary (hospitals, rehabilitation centers, etc.). Continue their studies at postgraduate level in Greece and abroad.
	Entry criteria The programme is addressed to high-school leavers who wish to pursue a career in the area of Early Childhood. Required documentation: Copy of High School Certificate Letters of Recommendation by High School teachers Copy of Identity Card Passport-sized photos Copy of English language certificate (if required) Other certificates/degrees AMC Application Form A personal interview complements the evaluation of the above documentation. Cases of candidates with proven knowledge in the field in addition to their secondary education are examined on a case-by-case basis.
	Academic Staff The academic staff of the School of Humanities consists of distinguished lecturers, holders of Masters and PhD degrees with extensive research and teaching experience at Greek and foreign Universities plus professional recognition in their field of expertise. In their majority they also work in various settings, institutions, clinics, hospitals, schools, nurseries, NGOs, private companies, etc. as psychologists, education experts, special educators, etc. and have extensive professional experience in their field of expertise who can familiarize students with the latest methods and help them put to practice the theoretical knowledge they acquire in class.
