Ports are the economic drivers of a country’s economy and ships are the principal mode of delivery. As countries develop and their economies grow, reliance on ships and ports also grows.
The BSc (Hons) Shipping and Port Management constitutes a comprehensive programme of study in the area of Shipping, a key link in the global supply chain, as about 90 per cent of world trade is carried by the shipping industry. On our ship and port management degree students gain key knowledge and specific expertise in ship, port and transport operations, maritime law, marine finance and general management – all of the essential skills required to apply for a range of roles in this major global industry.
One of the cornerstones of this programme is providing students with realistic experiences so as to acquire the necessary specialised skills on Shipping and Port Management and helping them appreciate the complexities and particularities of modern businesses of the specific sector.
