Dr. Erna Blanche, Professor of the University of California as a keynote speaker at the 2nd Symposium of the Faculty of Occupational Therapy of Metropolitan College
The 2nd Symposium of the Faculty of Occupational Therapy of Metropolitan College was held, with great success, in AMC's premises in Maroussi. This year's Symposium was entitled "The Importance of Science Project in clinical practice of occupational therapy with documentation."
Keynote speaker was Dr. Erna Imperatore Blanche, Associate Professor, University of California, specialized in pediatric occupational therapy and interventions based on the Science Project.
During the symposium, the contemporary components for the interventions of health professionals, based on scientific evidence, were presented, followed with a detailed analysis and discussion regarding the Evidence Based Practice and the role of Occupational Science in Occupational Therapy. Any science that serves people and especially their health, such as Occupational Therapy, has different origins. However, all health professions now have a common factor which is Evidence Based Practice.
The Symposium was attended by students from the Faculty of Health of Metropolitan College as well as Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Special Education professionals from both private and public sectors.
