Metropolitan College Thessaloniki at the Aqua-Leuven 2015 conference in Leuven Belgium
Metropolitan College Thessaloniki participated with three research teams in the “Aqua-Leuven 2015” international conference held in Leuven, Belgium between April 15-18. The teams consisted of researchers from the Departments of ECS and Special Education and Physiotherapy.
After the Scientific Committee’s positive evaluation and review, the research teams presented the following issues:
• “The factors and the benefits of an efficient inclusive swim program for the children with and without intellectual disabilities: a qualitative research in Greece” presented by MA SEN graduate Foteini Pagkou, lecturer Nelly Florentin and Programme Leader of the Department of ECS and Special Education Dr. Vassiliki Pliogkou.
• “Gait and balance parameters improvements in adolescents with developmental disorders after an 8-week aquatic therapy program”
• “Day to day improvement and intertrial variability of balance parameters in elderly patients submitted to an aquatic motor control intervention after hip replacement”. The two last presentations were made by Dr. Marianna Kotzamanidou, Clinical Practice Coordinator of the Physiotherapy Department.
The conference was organised by the KULeuven, Faculty of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences.
