Seminar on “Entrepreneurship and its various views, from the Music Industry’s aspect”

Metropolitan College and the Department of Music Production and Engineering successfuly organised a seminar on “Entrepreneurship and its various views, from the Music Industry’s aspect” that took place at the College’s main lecture hall.

The seminar was mainly addressed to music professionals and Music Technology, Production and Engineering students, as well as executives from the Music Industry. It was organised within the framework of the module “Entrepreneurship and Employability for the Music Professional” of the BA (Hons) Music Production and Engineering, offered by Metropolitan College in collaboration with University of East London, UK and taught by composer and music producer Antonios Plessas.

The seminars presentations covered a wide range of subjects in the Music sector. Mr Vanias Apergis’ presentation covered issues such as music composition, advertising, post production, publicing and online radio management. Mr Chris Chatzistamou’s presentation was mainly focused on the commercial aspect of Music, product representation, Web design, Marketing, Branding, as well as services in the markets of Audio mastering & restoration.

Metropolitan College’s invited speakers are both esteemed and recognised professionals in their field of work and they shared their unique and rich experiences from the Music Industry with the audience. More specifically:

► Vanias Apergis: Mr Apergis talked about his professional experience, as well as his tasks and work as General Manager of Power Music Productions, Eggwave Music Publishing and as Owner and Art Director of the online portal Classicalradio.gr.

► Christos Chatzistamou: Mr Chatzistamou talked about the dimension of classical and online commerce on products that have to do with listening, producing and playing Music, as well as about his role and work as Managing Director of Athens Pro Audio, and his personal career on mastering, remastering and restoration through Athens Mastering.
