Lecture on Podiatry therapeutic methods with VR equipment by Professor James Charles at Metropolitan College Athens Campus

Professor James Charles, Griffith University, Australia, shared valuable insights with the BSc Podiatry students of Metropolitan College.

Maintaining ongoing engagement with the scientific advancements, Metropolitan College Faculty of Health invited Professor of Podiatry James Charles, Director of the First Peoples Health Unit at Griffith University in Australia.

Dr. Charles shared significant data from his doctoral research studying the treat methods on feet of the people from the Aboriginal tribe with the Podiatry Department students of Metropolitan College. Beyond theoretical knowledge, the Professor’s lecture had a strongly interactive element as it also focused on practical application. During his presentation, he led students in a Virtual Reality Environment in order to familiarize them with the natives’ natural therapeutic practices of the Aboriginal tribe.

Dr. Charles’s lecture gave students the opportunity to learn and, also, become familiar with new technologies and VR applications in medical treatment.

Visits from professors of international universities enhance international collaboration and the exchange of knowledge among academic communities, offering students the opportunity to engage with different practices, followed in various cultures and environments.

Metropolitan College offers a BSc (Hons) Podiatry programme of study,
in collaboration with Queen Margaret University.
