The MA Acting for Stage and Screen at Metropolitan College is an innovative professional training program designed for those who wish to excel in both stage and screen acting. Through practice-led learning and research, participants will work alongside leading industry professionals to develop and enhance their techniques in acting, text, voice, movement, and performance for stage and screen.
This master’s degree program aims to offer students the opportunity to develop advanced practical skills and a theoretical understanding required for acting on stage and screen. Students will gain insights into contemporary acting methodologies and practices, and understand their place within broader theoretical, cultural, and contextual frameworks.
Throughout the program, students will participate in a series of practical workshops, seminars, and masterclasses, and create practice-as-research-based performance and film projects. They will develop the transferable skills and adaptability needed for a contemporary career as a professional actor in their chosen field(s) within a real work environment.
From the initial idea through to performance or screening, the program encourages and supports students in refining their craft and deepening their understanding of creativity, collaboration, performance, and research processes. Additionally, students are guided to direct their development and research processes to build a versatile toolkit of skills applicable to a wide range of professional contexts.
The teaching staff consists strictly of renowned and award-wining professionals, with performances in Greek and international festivals as well as personal research. In addition, Metropolitan College, in collaboration with the University of East London, has a wide network of partners who work as producers, directors and casting directors in Greece and abroad, who are available to advise all students on their professional steps.
