The BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education programme of study, at Metropolitan College, is designed based on the latest theoretical and academic approaches, adapted to meet the needs of the 21st century. At the same time, it fosters and promotes the science of Pedagogy through interdisciplinary academic teaching and research.
The curriculum aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills for their professional and academic development as educators. With a strong focus on an interdisciplinary approach, the programme provides graduates with an in-depth understanding of the complexities of early childhood education.
Throughout their studies, students explore various aspects of early childhood and child development, learning how to promote holistic education across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains.

Its goal is to develop competent educators, prepared to create supportive learning environments and implement effective pedagogical strategies. Career Prospects
The BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education offers the necessary qualifications to those who wish to engage professionally with preschool children and get employment as early childhood educators. Graduates of this programme are able to:
- Preschool teachers/kindergarten teachers in private and public schools
- Preschool teachers/kindergarten teachers in special education schools with the addition of a master’s degree in special education (MA SEN)
- Principals in private and public schools
- Education executives/preschool educators in early childhood education institutions (nurseries, kindergartens, creativity centres etc.) or any kind of educational settings
In addition, they can continue their studies in postgraduate programmes in Greece and abroad.
Admission Requirements
This programme is addressed to graduates of secondary education who wish to engage professionally with preschool children.
Required documentation:
- Copy of High School Certificate, issued by vocational Lyceums (such as TEE or EPAL), and foreign certificates which are equivalent to the Greek Lyceum certificate (e.g. International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, etc.), with a grade above 12.
- Letters of Recommendation
- Copy of Identity Card
- Passport-sized photos
- MC Application Form
A personal interview complements the evaluation of the above documentation.
