Metropolitan College at the Metropolitan College at the 8th Hydra Shipping Conference

hydra news engThe Faculty of Shipping and Maritime Studies of Metropolitan College participated in the 8th Hydra Shipping Conference which took place in the historic island of Hydra on Saturday September 9th. This year's conference theme was: "MONEY TALKS BUT WEALTH WHISPERS".
Leading Greek ship-owners, as well as senior shipping industry business executives, multinational and Greek company representatives, consultants, academics and members of Hydra's historic shipping families, took part in the conference. Professor Dinos Arcoumanis, Chairman of Metropolitan College Academic Board, was one of the keynote speakers in part II of the Conference regarding Business Strategy in the Shipping Industry.
It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Shipping and Maritime Studies of Metropolitan College offers for the first time in Greece two new academic programmes of study, in collaboration with the world-renowned British Warsash Maritime Academy, part of Southampton Solent University’s Warsash School of Maritime Science and Engineering. Warsash Maritime Academy has provided first class education, training, consultancy and research services to the international shipping, commercial yacht, and offshore oil and gas industries for over 70 years. The two new programmes are the following: BSc (Hons) Marine Operations Management, BEng (Hons) Marine Engineering & Management.
With the launch of the two new programmes, Metropolitan College presents the most complete Maritime School in Greece, which, in addition to the above, offers recognized Bachelors and Masters in Maritime Business and Shipping and Port Management, in collaboration with Southampton Solent University.
