Metropolitan College at the Times Higher Education Digital Universities Europe 2023

The “Digital Universities Europe” conference was held in Barcelona, where key challenges in digital transformation in higher education were addressed.

With active participation in international events shaping the education sector, Metropolitan College took part in the Digital Universities Europe Conference held in Barcelona. The conference was organized to highlight good practices and technologies promoting the development of higher education in the digital age.

Metropolitan College was successfully represented by Dr. Antonis Mouchtaropoulos, the Dean of Digital Learning & EdTech, and Mr. Dimitris Diamantis, the Principal of Metropolitan College.

As part of the panel discussion on “Rethinking the role of media, audiovisual, and innovative learning units in the digital transition” Dr. Mouchtaropoulos spoke about the use of innovative digital practices in higher education. In this context, he shared the best practices followed by Metropolitan College regarding the creation of supportive educational content for students and the plan for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the educational process.

It is worth mentioning that Metropolitan College has been honored with the “Digital Transformation Excellence Award in the Higher Education Sector” by the British Computer Society (BCS), the world’s leading body of computer science professionals and experts, in recognition of its outstanding contributions to digital transformation in higher education.

The Times Higher Education Digital Universities Europe provides a perfect framework for sharing practices and experiences relating to the digitalisation of higher education. It’s an opportunity to move forward together towards European higher education that is inclusive, high quality and transformative for people, organisations and the world. The 2023 edition, hosted in partnership with UOC, addressed key challenges and opportunities of digital-first higher education and showcase tools, technologies and talent to accelerate education innovation.
