Metropolitan College in the International Conference on Research in Distance Education “RIDE 2025”

The Conference was organized by the Centre for Online and Distance Education (CODE), University of London.

Committed to advance research and innovation in distance and online education, Dr. Chrysoula Mangafa, Deputy Director (Academic Affairs), Rhodes Campus, and Antonis Mouhtaropoulos, Director of the Virtual Campus and Dean of Online Learning, at Metropolitan College, participated in the 19th International Conference on Research in Distance Education and e-Learning (RIDE). 

The conference was organized by the Centre for Online and Distance Education (CODE) at the University of London and took place at Senate House, London, as well as online.

Metropolitan College was internationally recognized with Bronze Status ,for its excellence in delivering online programmes of study, in the Online Learning Rankings by Times Higher Education.

During the event, they presented their research titled “Online Learning Readiness and Motivation to Engage in Online Learning: Implications for Practice in a Transnational Higher Education Institution.” Their presentation focused on the relationship between online learning readiness and students’ attitudes towards online education, offering valuable insights into enhancing student engagement in transnational learning environments.

The conference gathered over 400 attendees, including experts in distance education and professionals from around the world. Key themes discussed included accessibility, student engagement, and transnational education (TNE).

Metropolitan College’s participation in RIDE 2025 highlights its contribution to the global dialogue on improving the learning experience in transnational higher education settings.
