Solent University, Southampton, one of Metropolitan College partner universities, has been awarded three Gold ratings in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.
The national scheme run by the British Office for Students, TEF, recognised Solent University for offering high quality student experience and, also, for the student outcomes which are typically outstanding. TEF aims to encourage higher education providers to deliver excellence in the areas students care about the most:
- Teaching
- Learning
- Achieving positive outcomes from their studies
Solent University received honors and was awarded gold for all three, with the awards lasting for four years.

“There is no doubt that the TEF has raised the bar on teaching, learning and student experience across the sector, and I am particularly proud that we now belong to a small group of universities who have gained the ‘triple Gold'”, proudly mentioned Vice-Chancellor, Professor James Knowles.
It is also worth mentioning that the TEF panel also praised Solent’s student submission, describing students as “devoted, curious and aspiring individuals with the goal of changing their lives through advanced opportunities and experiences”.
