METROPOLITAN COLLEGE

Greece as an emerging International Hub
for Higher Education

The Annual Advisory Board meeting of Metropolitan College, held in Athens, highlighted Greece’s strengthened role in the international education landscape. With the participation of representatives from partner public UK universities, international organizations, and distinguished experts, the discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of Transnational Higher Education (TNE).

During the meeting, data was presented demonstrating Greece’s dynamic growth as a study destination, marked by a steady increase in international student enrolment and the expansion of partnerships with universities abroad. Particular emphasis was placed on the developments impacting higher education in the United Kingdom in the post-Brexit era, the strategic role of TNE as a model for sustainability, and the importance of Greece as a stable and reliable education hub in the wider region.

At the same time, the contribution of Metropolitan College and Alphabet Education in advancing the internationalisation of education was highlighted, through strategic partnerships, targeted investments, and the development of modern academic programmes.
