The MSc Chiropractic (Pre-registration) [Greece] at Metropolitan College has a strong focus on the development of the key competencies required for safe and effective clinical practice to develop as skilled chiropractors.

It is an intensive programme of study in which self-directed learning is necessary to complement time spent in class. The aim of the programme is to provide students with a challenging and rewarding educational experience that enables them to develop as competent, evidence-based and person-centred chiropractors, capable of making a valuable contribution to the workplace and the chiropractic profession.

The programme focuses on the development of the key competencies required for safe and effective clinical practice which will be built upon the knowledge students have acquired through previous study

Placement based learning is integral to this programme to enable students to develop and demonstrate their skills in chiropractic practice. These placements will take place in the summer of the first year, between Spring and Autumn semesters, and throughout the second year of the programme.

Chiropractic is a specialist area of healthcare, allied to medicine which involves the assessment, identification, therapeutic interventions, and prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine, and the effects of these disorders on the nervous system and on general health.

The overall rationale of the MSc Chiropractic (Pre-registration) [Greece]programme is to facilitate the development of graduate chiropractors with the transferable, intellectual and professional capabilities needed to contribute to sustainable health and well-being of individuals and society, to advance their own practice and that of their profession.

There is an emphasis on patient education and advice, promotion of self-efficacy, rehabilitation, and manual techniques, including spinal manipulation/adjustment. Additionally, students will develop their knowledge through seminars and small group working and their practical skills through hands on practical teaching and clinical placement.

Career Prospects

Graduates of the postgraduate programme MSc Chiropractic (Pre-registration) [Greece] can typically work in private practice, either within a chiropractic or multidisciplinary setting. They, also, can establish their own private clinic.

Graduates are eligible to apply to join the General Chiropractic Council register as a chiropractor within the UK and the Hellenic Chiropractors’ Association. Graduates may be able to practise internationally, dependent on the local regulations.

Some may go on to further studies to advance their knowledge in a specific field or apply for further study at doctoral level.
