40-place rise in the Guardian University Guide 2025
The University of East London (UEL), one of the oldest and most significant partnerships of Metropolitan College, has achieved an impressive 40-place rise in the “The Guardian University Guide” rankings, reaching the 56th position in the UK for 2025. In addition, UEL ranked 9th among the best universities in London, further solidifying its reputation as a leading educational institution.
Professor Amanda Broderick, Vice Chancellor and President, said, “This significant achievement in the 2025 Guardian University Guide’s league table is a direct result of the dedication, innovation, and hard work of our entire University community“. This remarkable progress, which represents the most notable improvement among UK universities for 2025, is largely attributed to the impact of UEL’s Vision 2028 strategy, which UEL has been implementing for the past six years.
