Metropolitan College, through its International Programmes Office, hosted a team of students and associate professors from North Central College on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Downtown Campus. North Central College is based in Illinois, USA and focuses on social sciences and humanities.
Students visited Greece and Italy in the context of their course “Greece, Italy and the European Union”, which explores the role of the two countries in the European Union and also compares and contrasts the recent financial crisis in both countries as state-members of the European Union.
During their stay at Metropolitan College, they had the opportunity to attend two specially designed lectures on issues related to their studies by Dr Fotis Papageorgiou, Academic Director of Metropolitan College of Piraeus and Mr Zannis Gkiouzelis, Lecturer of Metropolitan College and a specialist in political science and international affairs. The academic component of the programme was supplemented by a visit to the Greek Parliament, where the students were given a guided tour of the Parliament premises and enjoyed the opportunity to live the experience of Greek politicians in real conditions.
The visit was coordinated by the International Programmes Office of Metropolitan College and the group leader, Dr Robert Moussetis, Professor of International Business at North Central College. The appointment with North Central College was renewed for the next academic year.
