Thanassis Neofotistos, one of the most successful and talented graduates of Metropolitan College‘s Film Directing studies, awarded for several of his short films, takes over as the Head Programmer of the new International Student Competition Programme of Drama Short Film Festival.
Τhe International Student competition is a brand new initiative and one of the most promising programmes of the DISFF. Film Schools from around the world and Greece will participate in order to form an educational background for Cinema. This new ambitious project aims to underline the outwardness of the Festival in Drama Greek and promote the production of student films within a distinct international context. In this way, it gives them the opportunity to be exposed to one of the major ways in which the Film Industry functions today.
Besides, it aims to be a forum for young talented filmmakers – the future of cinema, to show their work and, hopefully, it will give rise to new film trends. The International Student Competition Programme will take place along with the National, and the International competitions of the 43rd Drama International Short Film Festival from 20th to 26th September 2020.
A few words about BA in Media Production – Film Directing programme of study
BA in Media Production – Film Directing is a unique Bachelor programme of studies in Film Directing offered in Greece. Part of the programme is the compulsory production of a short graduate film of a maximum duration of 30 minutes. Metropolitan College graduates’ films participate in Greek and International Film Festivals and, until now, many of them have been awarded with a wide range of distinctions.
