6 Metropolitan College Computing graduates awarded by the British Computer Society (BCS)
Six Faculty of Computing graduates were honored and awarded by the British Computer Society (BCS) for their outstanding academic performance during their studies at Metropolitan College. British Computer Society (BCS) is a worldwide leading Authority Body for IT Scientists and IT Professionals.
During the Ceremony, Metropolitan College under-graduate and post-graduate IT Graduates received a “Distinguished IT Graduates Award” by Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at the Athens University of Economics and Business, Emmanuel Yannakoudakis. In general, the BCS honored 18 IT Graduates from different British Universities.
The Metropolitan College graduates are:

• Sotirios Bazianas, BSc Computer Science (in collaboration with University of East London)
• Andreas Kalanidis, BSc Cyber Security & Networks (in collaboration with University of East London)
• Nikolaos Kontoudakis, BSc Computer Science (in collaboration with University of East London)
• Anna-Sofia Drosou, BSc Computer Science (in collaboration with University of East London)
• Efstathios Bourazanis, Msc Information Security & Digital Forensics (in collaboration with University of East London)
This is the 3rd year in a row that Metropolitan College graduates are being awarded at the British Computer Society (BCS) for their excellent performance.
The ceremony attended Dr Sklavounos Dimitris, Dean of the Metropolitan College Faculty of Computing. Following the awards, a seated dinner reception followed at the Ministry of Digital Governance, in honour of all awarded.
A few words about the “BCS Hellenic Digital Excellence” event:
The British Computer Society (BCS) event took place at the Ministry of Digital Governance of Greece, in the presence of prestigious personalities of the Academic and the Professional IT sectors. Specificaally, the ceremony assisted and gave speeches H.E. the Secretary General of Information Systems and Digital Governance of the Ministry of Digital Governance Professor Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos, Η.Ε. the British Ambassador Mr Matthew Lodge, the Director of British Council in Greece Mrs Anastasia Andritsou, and the Chairman of BCS in Greece and Fellow of BCS Mr Christos Stavroulakis.
Furthermore, The Ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Director of the Cyber Crime Unit of the Greek Police Mr Vasileios Papakostas, the General Manager of Microsoft for Greece Cyprus and Malta Mrs Ioanna Andronopoulou, the Vice President of Pfizer and Head of the Pfizer CDI Mr Nico Gariboldi, the co-founder of Code.Hub Mr Vasileios Velkos, and many other Persons from the Academic and the Professional IT sectors.
