Μetropolitan College’s dynamic presence at Posidonia 2022

Μetropolitan College participated in the International Shipping Exhibition Posidonia, hosting the 4th International Conference on Maritime Education.

 

Metropolitan College’s Maritime Academy successfully organized the International Conference on Maritime Education during the International Shipping Exhibition Posidonia, the heart of shipping. “The Impact of Geopolitics on the Future of Shipping” was the conference’s main theme and was widely developed in 2 discussion panels.

Aiming to highlight the new trends and developments in maritime education and the shipping industry, the panel talks were focused on the impact of Geopolitics on the future of Shipping, along with the challenges geopolitical crisis pose on the prioritization process already in progress in the shipping industry, and more specifically on its shift towards decarbonization and Green Shipping.

The conference was organized by Metropolitan College’s Maritime Academy, one of the biggest educational institutions in maritime and shipping studies in South Europe. International speakers of major shipping companies and industry stakeholders shared valuable and useful inputs.

Furthermore, Metropolitan College participated in the Posidonia event as an exhibitor too. In our info point, Faculty of Shipping and Maritime Academy representatives were sharing info on our courses and programmes of study to every student, graduate or professional interested either in acquiring or developing his/her skills.

SAFETY4SEA was also at Posidonia event, conducting video interviews with global experts to feel the pulse of how shipping can find itself in a sea of change. Vicky Apostolopoulou, Business Development Executive of Metropolitan College Maritime Academy, was one of them.
