The crucial role of higher education at the forefront of the Academic Council meeting

Prestigious academics and prominent figures from the organization’s partner British universities focused on strategic issues for its further development and the promotion of higher education on a global scale.

The annual meeting of Metropolitan College’s Academic Council, successfully organized by the institution, was held at Athens Campus, in the presence of the British Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Matthew Lodge.

This year’s meeting focused on the pivotal contribution of higher education to society, its necessity for global recognition, as well as, Metropolitan College’s strategic initiatives for sustainable future growth, including advancing academic excellence and enhancing the educational experience for its students.

Prestigious academics, administrative members from the College, and distinguished representatives from 4 partnering British universities (University of East London, Queen Margaret University, Solent University, and Oxford Brookes University) concentrated on strategic matters for further development.
Key topics included expanding the reach of British academic programs to more Greek and international students, enhancing the educational and student experience, and strengthening the connection between academic studies and the job market. Additionally, the promotion of joint research collaborations to address global challenges was discussed—an initiative expected to boost the impact of British Transnational Education (TN.E).

The annual Academic Council meeting is a Metropolitan College initiative, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and continuous developement, and targetting in promoting higher education on a global level, a point underscored in the British Ambassador’s speech.

Metropolitan College, with over 10,000 students, stands as the largest provider of Transnational Higher Education in Europe and one of the global leaders in British Transnational Education. Along with its partner British universities, it forms the largest hub of British Transnational Education worldwide (UK TNE Hub), fostering educational innovation through joint educational initiatives, international student exchange programs, and the implementation of modern teaching methods.
