French Students from the “Free Institute of Higher Physical Education” visit Metropolitan College

Physical Education students attended a custom-designed seminar on Sports Management.

As part of targeted efforts to promote the internationalization of education, Metropolitan College recently welcomed Coaching & Physical Education students from the Institut Libre d’Éducation Physique Supérieur (ILEPS) in Cergy, France.

The primary purpose of their educational visit was to attend a specialized seminar that included lectures and discussions covering a wide range of topics related to Sport Management. The lectures took place in the Athens Campus lecture hall, with Dr. Vagelis Kontaxakis, Deputy Principal of Research & Innovation of Metropolitan College, leading the event as the keynote speaker.

The French students had the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and exchange views with professors and experts in the field, enhancing their intercultural understanding and broadening their horizons. Moreover, this visit served as an excellent opportunity for developing collaborative relationships and networking for both institutions.

The visit of ILEPS students was hosted by the  Metropolitan College International Programmes Office,
as part of the Global University Hub strategy to strengthen educational collaborations and foster ties with international universities.

Institut Libre d’Éducation Physique Supérieur (ILEPS) was founded to train physical education executives for free secondary education (monitors or teachers). As of January 1, 2020, ILEPS becomes a component establishment of CY, Cergy Paris University, and it is granted by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, after advice from the advisory committee for private higher education.
