Metropolitan College at the “Innovation & Cooperation Conference” in China

Dr Vaggelis Kontaxakis, Vice-Principal Research & Innovation of Metropolitan College attended the event to present the College’s research and development strategy.

Metropolitan College successfully participated in the recent international “EU-China (Wuxi) Industrial Innovation & Cooperation Conference”. Metropolitan College was represented by Dr Vaggelis Kontaxakis, Vice-Principal Research & Innovation.

Dr Kontaxakis was invited by EUPIC (EU Project Innovation Centre), the Conference’s host and organizing committee, in order to participate to the Vocational Education Forum, as a speaker in the “Innovation & Development of Vocational Education guided by industries” section. During his speech, he presented the College’s development strategy and successful practices related to research and innovation issues, emphasizing its strong connection to the industry. Additionally, he shared key pillars of the College’s vision on internationalization and the development of further partnerships.

Metropolitan College aims to dynamically contribute to the promotion of Greece as an international educational destination.

As part of his participation in the Conference, Dr. Kontaxakis also visited the city of Chengdu to attend meetings with officials from EUPIC and educational institutions in the city. The purpose of these meetings was to explore the development of collaborations for international students from China and in the areas of research/innovation.

 

A few words about the conference:
The Innovation & Cooperation Conference focused on projects of cutting-edge technologies, modern high-end, green and low-carbon industries in Europe, aspiring to create the EU- China Industrial Innovation Zone — an innovation-led development zone for modern high-end international industrial cooperation, to deepen EU-China trade, investment and technological cooperation and build an efficient exchange platform.
The Organizing committee invited European industrial clusters, institutions and enterprises such as Internet of Things, integrated circuits, biomedicine, software and information technology services, energy conservation and environmental protection, characteristic new materials, new energy, automobiles and auto parts, high-end equipment, high-end textile and apparel, to conduct one-to-one precise matching negotiations with Chinese enterprises.
