Next Gen Talks by Metropolitan College

In the occasion of “Euroleague Basketball Next Generation”, Metropolitan College organized  sports workshops.

Metropolitan College, the largest College of university studies in Greece, successfully organized three workshops, entitled ” Next Gen Talks”, as part of the parallel activities of the “Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament”.

Our main goal was to help participants get closer to sports and understand their multiple benefits, but also to encourage their more active participation in sports activities, by enhancing their knowledge about important issues related to athletes’ stress management, sports nutrition and maximizing athletic performance.

Metropolitan College was the exclusive Educational Sponsor of the tournament.

The “NEXT GEN TALKS by Metropolitan College” programme included the following workshop sessions:

• “Stress in Sports: basic principles, management and practical approaches’
  Speaker: Dr. Foteini Papadopoulou, Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, Metropolitan College
• “Maximizing athletic performance through nutrition in major sports events”
  Speaker: Dr Eirini Manthou, Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, Metropolitan College
• “Coaching planning and optimization of athletic performance”
  Speaker: Dr. Giorgos Sofianidis, Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, Metropolitan College

Guest speakers 

Dimitris Agravanis and Nikos Gikas, players from Promitheas, the team-phenomenon of Patras, also participated at the workshops and shared their own experience and methods.

Best players awards   

On the last day of the “Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament”, Metropolitan College’s Patra Campus Director, Mr. Benetatos Theodore, awarded the best players of this year’s tournament! Congratulations to Miro Litte, Rafa Villar, Alex Samantourov, Mateo Visintin and Ofri Naveh.
